CATARACTS AND EDUCATION

Later in life, I discovered I was developing cataracts in both of my eyes. I went to Cook County Eye and Ear Clinic and there a doctor informed me that the cataracts were in the early stages of development. He said, “wait until they have fully matured and we’ll operate to remove them.” I was. upset and depressed by this diagnosis. Usually, a cataract operation is successful but sometimes the patient will still go blind. The doctor could not give me any advice on what I could do to prevent or slow down the degeneration. I am a Buddhist and faith equals daily life. I began to do research and came across a book called, “Yoga of Perfect Sight” by Dr. R.S. Agarwal. I found here that cataracts are due to strain and that they were preventable and also curable if caught in the early stages.

EYE EDUCATION

Preservation of good eyesight is impossible without proper education. I had mastered the techniques explained in the book and prevented cataracts from growing and deteriorating my eyesight. It became important for me to make this DVD called Yoga for Your Eyes I also do home visits and see patients with glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes, detached retinas and paralysis of the eyes. Some patients who have had strokes are getting shots directly in their eyes. They need to learn how to reduce the stress that affects their eyesight. Our eyes are vital organs we need to live and participate in this digital age. The eyes and the liver work together. Yoga for Your Eyes teaches one how to reduce stress around the eyes and keep them healthy.

Everyone needs to know how to take care of their eyes and prevent diseases from occurring. Palming is very important in Yoga for Your Eyes, It teaches people how to bring, the prana or chi into the hands in order to transfer to one’s eyes. It takes about 20 minutes a day to maintain your eyes once you learn the techniques. I spent many years of preparation in learning, developing my own practice and to write and produce this DVD, Yoga for Your Eyes. I am happy to share my findings in eye education, so important in the Digital Age in which we live.
